R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Lyons Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Houston
  hosted a "Love Day Celebration" on February 15, 2015, to honor Faye
  Marie Johnson for her 50 years of service to the congregation; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnson joined Lyons Unity MBC in 1965, when
  her husband, the Reverend Oliver Charlton Johnson Sr., answered the
  call to serve as its pastor, a position he held until his death in
  2003; in her five decades as a member of the church, nearly four of
  them spent as first lady, Sister Johnson has devoted herself to
  supporting its vital ministries, and her steadfast faith has
  inspired many; and
         WHEREAS, A source of wisdom and strength, Sister Johnson
  continues to enrich the lives of her fellow congregants, and her
  immeasurable contributions in behalf of Lyons Unity MBC have earned
  her their lasting respect and admiration; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Faye Marie Johnson for her 50 years of
  dedicated service to Lyons Unity Missionary Baptist Church and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Johnson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
