R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
  memories of Arley G. Echols of Stephenville, who passed away on
  February 16, 2015, at the age of 68; and
         WHEREAS, Arley Echols was born in Texarkana on July 23, 1946,
  to Roy and Dorothy Echols; he graduated from Plains High School and
  later received his bachelor's degree in education and master's
  degree in education administration from Tarleton State University;
  a veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Echols served overseas during the
  Vietnam War as a chaplain's assistant; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan enjoyed a successful career in
  education, serving as a sixth grade math teacher for the
  Stephenville Independent School District and as superintendent of
  Three Way and Huckabay Independent School Districts; he later
  worked as the veterans affairs officer for Erath County; and
         WHEREAS, A respected and longtime member of the Stephenville
  community, Mr. Echols was active in the congregation at First
  Baptist Church; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Echols was blessed with
  the love and support of his wife, Cathy, with whom he shared nearly
  four decades of marriage; he was devoted to his children, Michael
  and Jennifer, and he later knew the joy of welcoming his
  granddaughters, Audrey and Emily, into his cherished family; and
         WHEREAS, Arley Echols built a life that was rich in the
  intangibles that matter most, and although he is deeply missed, he
  will always be remembered with admiration and affection by all
  those who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Arley G. Echols and
  extend sincere condolences to his family: to his wife, Cathy
  Echols; to his son, Michael Echols and his wife, Alecia; to his
  daughter, Jennifer Lesley and her husband, Brian; to his
  granddaughters, Audrey Echols and Emily Lesley; to his brothers,
  Dan Echols and his wife, Judy, Jerry Echols and his wife, Sandra,
  and Paul Echols and his wife, Tammy; to his sister, Marie Phillips
  and her husband, Gale; and to his other relatives and friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Arley
  G. Echols.
