R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Gary Dougharty retired from the Jasper Fire |
|
|
Department in February 2015, drawing to a close his three and a half |
|
|
decades of service as a volunteer firefighter; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Dougharty first joined the Jasper Fire |
|
|
Department in 1980, and over the course of his exemplary 35-year |
|
|
tenure, he has distinguished himself in a number of positions; in |
|
|
2005, he became assistant chief, and the following year, he was |
|
|
elected chief of the department; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout this time, Mr. Dougharty has earned the |
|
|
respect and admiration of his fellow volunteers, and on the |
|
|
occasion of his retirement, he was named the Firefighter of the |
|
|
Year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Dougharty's dedication, skill, and commitment |
|
|
to protecting the lives and property of the public have greatly |
|
|
benefited the citizens of Jasper, and he may indeed reflect with |
|
|
pride on his exceptional record of service as he embarks upon the |
|
|
next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Gary Dougharty on his retirement |
|
|
from the Jasper Fire Department and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Dougharty as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
