R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at |
|
the loss of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Justin Holt, who died while |
|
serving his country on February 6, 2015, at the age of 31; and |
|
WHEREAS, Assigned to Bravo Troop 2-1 CAV Company 4th ID, |
|
Staff Sgt. Holt lost his life in a training accident at Fort Carson |
|
Army Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado; and |
|
WHEREAS, Justin Holt was born in Paris on September 3, 1983, |
|
to Robert and Judy Holt; after graduating from Pittsburg High |
|
School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Germany and |
|
Kuwait, in addition to deploying twice to Iraq; he was supported in |
|
all of his endeavors by a loving family, and he was the proud father |
|
of two children, Kayden and Morgan; and |
|
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to this |
|
nation's servicemen and servicewomen, who make immeasurable |
|
sacrifices for their country and who risk their very lives in its |
|
behalf; and |
|
WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed |
|
forces, Justin Holt inspired others with his fortitude, tenacity, |
|
and courage; although his death leaves a void in the lives of his |
|
loved ones, they will forever carry memories of this heroic Texan |
|
close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Staff |
|
Sergeant Justin Holt and extend deepest sympathy to the members of |
|
his family: to his children, Kayden Cummings and Morgan Holt; to his |
|
father, Robert Holt; to his mother, Judy Holt; to his grandmother, |
|
Evelyn Davidson; to his sister, Adrian Henry; to his stepsister, |
|
Beth Deal; to his brothers, Shannon Sessums and Joshua Holt; to his |
|
stepbrother, Joe Holt; and to his other relatives and many friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Staff |
|
Sergeant Justin Holt. |
