R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may
  temper the profound sadness felt by the loved ones of Fidencio E.
  Gutierrez of San Antonio, who passed away on February 22, 2015, at
  the age of 81; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Mexico, Mr. Gutierrez left his home in
  General Zuazua, Nuevo León, and emigrated to Texas in 1951; when he
  arrived in San Antonio, he worked a variety of jobs and sent money
  back to his parents, Fernando Gutierrez and Maria Sebastiana; in
  1954, he married Diamantina Perez, and they became the proud
  parents of four sons, Jose Roberto, Ricardo, and Ruben Gutierrez,
  and Roland Gutierrez, who is today a distinguished member of the
  Texas House of Representatives; and
         WHEREAS, With the help of his wife, Mr. Gutierrez improved
  his English and obtained a Texas truck driver's license; he went on
  to take the state life insurance board licensing exam, and he began
  his career with American National Insurance Company in 1960; within
  just a few years he was leading the regional office in sales, and
  his stellar performance earned him many accolades; by 1969 he had
  been appointed district manager and had opened his own office,
  which two years later garnered the prestigious President's Award
  for national sales; and
         WHEREAS, After Diamantina Gutierrez passed away in 1971,
  Mr. Gutierrez was fortunate to find love again with Bertha
  Espinoza; possessed of an exceptionally strong work ethic herself,
  this great-hearted woman shared his love of family, and the couple
  enjoyed more than 25 rewarding years together; and
         WHEREAS, Although Fidencio Gutierrez is deeply missed,
  memories of his devotion to his loved ones, his zeal to provide for
  their welfare, and his enthusiasm for a job well done remain a
  treasured source of comfort and inspiration to those he leaves
  behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Fidencio E.
  Gutierrez and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his children, Jose Roberto Gutierrez and his wife,
  Rosie, Ricardo Gutierrez and his wife, Kathy, Ruben Gutierrez and
  his wife, Alma, and State Representative Roland Gutierrez and his
  wife, Sarah; to his second wife, Bertha Espinoza Gutierrez, and her
  children, Alberto and Alicia Gomez; to his 16 grandchildren and 3
  great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Fidencio
  Gutierrez.
