R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Brittany L. Lightfoot of Onalaska has been chosen to |
|
|
receive a 2015 Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This notable young Texan, who will graduate this |
|
|
spring and attend college in the fall, was recognized for her |
|
|
achievements at a special banquet in Austin on March 2, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Legislative Black Caucus was established |
|
|
in 1973 to address issues of concern to the state's African American |
|
|
community; each biennium, the group awards scholarships to |
|
|
exceptional high school students from across the state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Ms. Lightfoot has |
|
|
demonstrated determination and perseverance in the pursuit of her |
|
|
goals, and she may indeed look forward to a future bright with |
|
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Brittany L. Lightfoot on her |
|
|
receipt of a Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship and extend |
|
|
to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Lightfoot as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
