R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Jaci Seale of Melissa captured the grand |
|
championship in the 12th annual Chisholm Challenge horse |
|
competition at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo on January 13, |
|
2015; and |
|
WHEREAS, Taking part in her very first competition, Jaci |
|
turned in an outstanding performance aboard her horse, Tony; she |
|
claimed first place in the English Equitation and Trail Ride |
|
categories, winning two blue ribbons and two championship belt |
|
buckles in addition to the grand championship title; and |
|
WHEREAS, A nine-year-old student at Melissa Ridge |
|
Intermediate School, Jaci began riding horses at the age of three to |
|
help her cope with cerebral palsy; with the assistance of the riding |
|
school ManeGait and her instructor and volunteer coordinator Sarah |
|
Dobbins, she has developed into a rider of great skill and |
|
determination; in addition, she has persevered through a number of |
|
surgeries and a demanding physical therapy program over the years, |
|
and her courage and persistence have enabled her to walk |
|
independently, an achievement that doctors initially thought |
|
impossible; and |
|
WHEREAS, Demonstrating the heart of a true champion, Jaci |
|
Seale is an inspiration to her family, friends, and community, and |
|
she may indeed take pride in her remarkable accomplishments; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jaci Seale on winning the grand |
|
championship at the 2015 Chisholm Challenge horse competition and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Jaci Seale as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
