R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Charles and Dale Tyer |
|
celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on December 18, |
|
2014; and |
|
WHEREAS, Charles Edward Tyer Jr. and Lora Dale Wells were |
|
joined in matrimony in 1954 at a ceremony held in the chapel of West |
|
Texas State University in Canyon; through the years, they have been |
|
blessed with a treasured family that includes their three |
|
daughters, Tammy Hawkins and her husband, Tom, Tracy Zachary and |
|
her husband, Mike, and Tana Hayes and her husband, Willie, as well |
|
as their seven grandchildren, T. C. Hawkins and his wife, Julie, |
|
Lora Kirkland and her husband, Chad, Miles Zachary and his wife, |
|
Jennifer, Michelle Wolfe and her husband, Jon, Nate Hayes, Bethany |
|
Cope and her husband, Nick, and Zach Hayes; they have been further |
|
blessed with six great-grandchildren, Kody and Kacy Hawkins, Kylie |
|
and Libby Kirkland, Trace Wolfe, and Kaden Zachary; and |
|
WHEREAS, Residents of Floydada since 1955, Mr. and Mrs. Tyer |
|
were respected educators in the local schools for three and a half |
|
decades before their retirement in 1990; after a year working at the |
|
junior high school, they both transferred to the high school, where |
|
Mr. Tyer coached football and eventually became principal, and |
|
Mrs. Tyer coached basketball and golf and taught health, English, |
|
and drivers education; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Tyer have enjoyed six decades of |
|
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Charles and Dale Tyer on their 60th |
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
