R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Ronnie Hopper and his son, R. N. Hopper, of |
|
Petersburg, earned well-deserved recognition when they received a |
|
2015 Farm Press-Cotton Foundation High Cotton Award; and |
|
WHEREAS, A partnership of Farm Press Publications, the Cotton |
|
Foundation, and the National Cotton Council, the High Cotton Awards |
|
were established in 1995 to honor outstanding cotton growers across |
|
the country who demonstrate genuine concern for the environment |
|
through the dedicated stewardship of their land; and |
|
WHEREAS, Selected from a number of worthy candidates from the |
|
Southwest region, the Hoppers employ a no-till cotton production |
|
method on their farm in Hale County, where they have significantly |
|
increased water conservation and soil quality since 2008; in |
|
addition to improved efficiency in their agricultural processes, |
|
the farm has seen a marked increase in the overall yield of its |
|
harvest; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Hoppers have achieved notable success within the |
|
cotton farming industry, and this prestigious accolade is a |
|
testament to their enduring commitment to their work and to the |
|
environment as a whole; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ronnie and R. N. Hopper on their |
|
receipt of a 2015 Farm Press-Cotton Foundation High Cotton Award |
|
and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the Hoppers as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
