R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Jeanne Israel is concluding her service as a member
  of the Pleasanton City Council in May 2015; and
         WHEREAS, A native of San Antonio, Ms. Israel moved to
  Atascosa County in 1982 to begin working at the San Miguel Electric
  Power Plant, where she earned the distinction of becoming the first
  female fuel and ash operator; after concluding her 16-year career
  there, she founded the trucking company Errand Girl Services in
  1999, and the following year, she was named treasurer of the Camino
  Real-Atascosa County Mental Health Center; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan was elected District 6
  representative of the Pleasanton City Council in 2009, and her
  outstanding efforts quickly garnered her the respect of her
  colleagues and the loyalty of voters, who returned her to two more
  terms in office; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Israel has further benefited her community
  through her volunteer work in behalf of numerous worthwhile
  organizations, most notably the Pleasanton Lions Club, which has
  twice named her Lion of the Year; in addition, she was presented
  with the 2014 Humanitarian Award by the Order of the Sons of Hermann
  in the State of Texas Lodge No. 310 and the 2001 Business Person of
  the Year Award by the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce; and
         WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Ms. Israel is blessed with
  the love and support of her husband, John, with whom she has shared
  more than three rewarding decades of marriage, and she takes
  tremendous pride in their daughter, Alicia; and
         WHEREAS, The dedicated work that Jeanne Israel has carried
  out during her six-year tenure on the city council has made a
  positive difference in the lives of Pleasanton residents, and she
  is indeed deserving of recognition for her accomplishments; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Jeanne Israel for her service on the
  Pleasanton City Council and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Councilmember Israel as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
