R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Mark Olson was one of eight Texas A&M |
|
|
University-Corpus Christi employees who were named 2014 40 Under 40 |
|
|
honorees by Corpus Christi Under 40 (CCU40); and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, CCU40 honors 40 men and women under the |
|
|
age of 40 who have worked to make a positive difference in the |
|
|
Corpus Christi area through both their professional and community |
|
|
endeavors; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Olson is a synthetic organic chemist and |
|
|
assistant professor of chemistry at A&M-Corpus Christi, where he |
|
|
teaches classes in organic chemistry and molecular spectroscopy and |
|
|
played an instrumental role in establishing the university's first |
|
|
synthetic materials research laboratory; recently named a 1000 |
|
|
Talent Plan Foreign Expert by the Chinese government, he will serve |
|
|
as a professor in the School of Pharmaceutical Science and |
|
|
Technology at Tianjin University in the fall of 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Mark Olson has set an outstanding example of |
|
|
professional achievement and civic engagement, and he may take |
|
|
justifiable pride in his contributions to the Coastal Bend |
|
|
community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Mark Olson on his selection as |
|
|
a Corpus Christi 40 Under 40 honoree and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success in his important work; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. Olson as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
