R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, February 18, 2015, marks the 20th wedding |
|
|
anniversary of Jennifer and Mike King, and this joyous event |
|
|
provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable |
|
|
journey together as husband and wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, After graduating from Allen High School, where they |
|
|
were only passing acquaintances, Mike enlisted in the United States |
|
|
Army in 1991 and Jennifer enrolled at the University of North Texas |
|
|
in 1992; during the summer of 1994, while both were at home in |
|
|
Allen, they found themselves working together at the same |
|
|
Winn-Dixie and soon started dating; within months they had fallen |
|
|
in love, and they exchanged their wedding vows on February 18, 1995; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For a short time, the couple lived in Virginia while |
|
|
Mr. King attended army training at Joint Base Langley-Eustis; when |
|
|
they returned to Texas, Mrs. King transferred to The University of |
|
|
Texas, where she earned a degree in government before going on to |
|
|
graduate from Baylor Law School in 2001; Mr. King was honorably |
|
|
discharged from the army in 2003, and he then enrolled at The |
|
|
University of Texas at Arlington, graduating in 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. King represents clients in the areas of medical |
|
|
malpractice and health law and has been employed by Burford & |
|
|
Ryburn, LLP, in Dallas, for the past 13 years; Mr. King previously |
|
|
served on the staff of the North Central Texas Council of |
|
|
Governments for five years and currently works as a plans examiner |
|
|
for the City of Allen, where he is helping to ensure quality growth |
|
|
for the hometown of his youth; the couple are the proud parents of |
|
|
three rescued "fur-children," their dogs Boudreaux, Sadie, and |
|
|
Rooster Cogburn; they are also fans of the Texas Rangers baseball |
|
|
team, and they enjoy going to the theater and traveling anywhere the |
|
|
sun is shining; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 20 years of marriage that Jennifer and Mike King |
|
|
have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment, and their union is an inspiration to all who know them; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jennifer and Mike King on their |
|
|
20th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. King as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
