R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The year 2015 marks the 20th anniversary of Rod 'n' |
|
|
Rolls Treats and Eats in Robstown; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This popular restaurant was established in October |
|
|
1995 by Ruben and Mary Lou Flores; their two sons, Rodney and |
|
|
Roland, have worked there since the grand opening, and, with their |
|
|
parents' expert guidance and support, the pair took over operations |
|
|
in May 2004; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, the Flores brothers have |
|
|
preserved the eatery's unique rock and roll décor and comfortable |
|
|
family atmosphere while making a number of improvements, including |
|
|
overhauling the menu, expanding the kitchen, and increasing the |
|
|
seating to accommodate nearly 60 diners; in addition, the staff has |
|
|
grown to 10 employees; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Family-owned restaurants such as Rod 'n' Rolls |
|
|
Treats and Eats help strengthen the local economy while offering a |
|
|
distinctive, enjoyable dining experience to residents and visitors |
|
|
alike; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 20th anniversary of Rod 'n' |
|
|
Rolls Treats and Eats and extend to Rodney and Roland Flores and |
|
|
their staff sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the restaurant as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
