R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Cynthia M. Sakulenzki of McAllen celebrated her 15th
  anniversary as president and CEO of the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic
  Chamber of Commerce in February 2015, and the attainment of this
  special milestone offers a fitting opportunity to recognize this
  remarkable woman; and
         WHEREAS, The RGVHCC works to promote economic development and
  to assist businesses in accessing the Hispanic market by promoting
  education, training leaders, and providing a variety of networking
  opportunities; under Ms. Sakulenzki's guidance, the chamber has
  steadily enhanced its services, winning repeated recognition as the
  Texas Hispanic Chamber of the Year, as well as many national and
  regional accolades; and
         WHEREAS, Cynthia Sakulenzki was raised in McAllen and
  graduated from The University of Texas--Pan American; she has been
  named one of the top 10 Hispanic women in Texas, and in 2013, she was
  selected by Governor Rick Perry to receive The Yellow Rose of Texas
  Award, which is given to women who make a positive difference in
  their communities; in addition to her work with the chamber, she has
  volunteered her time and talents in behalf of a number of other
  local organizations, including the UTPA International Women's
  Board, the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas RGV Chapter, which she
  has served as president, and the UTPA Alumni Association, UTPA
  Bronc Athletic Fund, and El Milagro Clinic, all of which she has
  served as a board member; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Sakulenzki enjoys the love
  and support of her children, David, Jonathan, and Jeremy, and her
  granddaughter, McKenzie; her favorite leisure pastimes include
  traveling, fishing, and watching a variety of sports, including
  football, boxing, and NASCAR races, and she also delights in
  entertaining family and friends; and
         WHEREAS, Cynthia Sakulenzki has enriched her community in
  myriad ways, and the citizens of the Rio Grande Valley are indeed
  fortunate to count her among their fellow residents; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Cynthia M. Sakulenzki on her 15th
  anniversary as president and CEO of the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic
  Chamber of Commerce and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Sakulenzki as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
