R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Marcelo Rios of El Paso, who passed away on January 26, 2014, at
  the age of 71; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Rios was born in Ysleta on July 26, 1942, one of
  12 children of Emilio and Paula Rios; he graduated from Clint High
  School with honors and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in
  business administration from The University of Texas at El Paso;
  and
         WHEREAS, Continuing a proud family tradition of service in
  the military, Mr. Rios enlisted in the United States Air Force,
  where he achieved the rank of airman first class and garnered
  numerous commendations; he subsequently began a civilian career at
  Farah Manufacturing as a payroll supervisor, and he retired from
  his position as labor relations manager after 26 years with the El
  Paso Electric Company; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Rios was blessed with the
  love and support of his wife of 47 years, Maria Antonia, and his two
  children, Marnia and Omar; he treasured the time he spent with his
  family, and his favorite pastimes were fishing and cheering on the
  Dallas Cowboys; and
         WHEREAS, Marcelo Rios enjoyed a life that was rich in the
  intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those
  who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Marcelo Rios and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Maria Antonia Rios; to his children, Marnia Davis and her husband,
  Mike, and Omar Rios and his wife, Mina; to his grandson, Saia Rios;
  to his siblings, Emma, Emilio, Rosie, Manny, Margie, Betty, Sammy,
  and Lillian; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Marcelo
  Rios.
