R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of John J. Lewis of Violet on February 23, 2015, at the age
  of 76; and
         WHEREAS, The son of David and Sylvie Lewis, John Lewis was
  born in Sinton on August 10, 1938; a longtime resident of Violet, he
  made his living as a farmer in the Violet and Robstown communities
  for five decades; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan often delighted in the company
  of his loved ones and friends, and he was the proud father of a son,
  David; and
         WHEREAS, John Lewis led a life that was rich in the
  intangibles that matter most, and although he is deeply missed, he
  will forever be remembered with admiration and affection by all
  those who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of John J. Lewis and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his son,
  David Lewis; to his brothers, Tommy and Billy Mazza; and to his
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of John J.
  Lewis.
