R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of John J. Lewis of Violet on February 23, 2015, at the age |
|
of 76; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of David and Sylvie Lewis, John Lewis was |
|
born in Sinton on August 10, 1938; a longtime resident of Violet, he |
|
made his living as a farmer in the Violet and Robstown communities |
|
for five decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan often delighted in the company |
|
of his loved ones and friends, and he was the proud father of a son, |
|
David; and |
|
WHEREAS, John Lewis led a life that was rich in the |
|
intangibles that matter most, and although he is deeply missed, he |
|
will forever be remembered with admiration and affection by all |
|
those who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of John J. Lewis and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his son, |
|
David Lewis; to his brothers, Tommy and Billy Mazza; and to his |
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of John J. |
|
Lewis. |
