R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Alfredo Reyna Flores and Alvaro Gaona of Foy |
|
|
H. Moody High School in Corpus Christi have earned well-deserved |
|
|
recognition by taking third place in the plate division at the 11th |
|
|
annual American Welding Society Mike Mylnar Memorial Welding |
|
|
Contest; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Held in conjunction with the Nueces County Junior |
|
|
Livestock Show on January 9, 2015, this unique vocational education |
|
|
event drew 120 students from 21 schools; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In the plate division competition, two students, a |
|
|
welder and a helper, are tasked with fabricating a T-bar from two |
|
|
pieces of steel plate, based on a drawing provided before the |
|
|
contest; Mr. Flores and Mr. Gaona came in third while competing |
|
|
against 36 other teams; they are both juniors at Moody High School, |
|
|
where their welding teacher is Oscar Medina; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These two young men exhibited exemplary skill and |
|
|
dedication during their award-winning performance, and they may |
|
|
indeed look forward to a future bright with promise; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Alfredo Reyna Flores and Alvaro |
|
|
Gaona on taking third place in the plate division at the 2015 AWS |
|
|
Mike Mylnar Memorial Welding Contest and extend to them sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared |
|
|
for Mr. Flores and Mr. Gaona as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
