R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Alex Elliott of Plano celebrated his Bar Mitzvah on
  May 10, 2014, and this significant milestone indeed merits special
  recognition; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Elliott's Bar Mitzvah ceremony was performed by
  Rabbi Andrew Paley at Temple Shalom in Dallas, and he was joined in
  the celebration by his parents, B. J. Elliott and Dr. Tracy
  Elliott, and by his sister, Abby; and
         WHEREAS, In preparation for this time-honored rite of
  passage, Mr. Elliott studied Hebrew for four and a half years; he
  also performed a Bar Mitzvah project to benefit his community,
  cleaning up a local creek with the assistance of fellow members of
  Boy Scout Troop No. 221; and
         WHEREAS, Academically and athletically inclined, Mr. Elliott
  plays football and soccer, and he has also impressed his teachers
  and his peers with his artistic talent; in his free time, he enjoys
  fishing with his mother, hunting with his father, and spending time
  with his dog, Zack; and
         WHEREAS, Representing his passage into adulthood, the Bar
  Mitzvah of Alex Elliott was a notable event for this young Texan and
  his family, and his achievements to date herald a future bright with
  promise; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Alex Elliott on his Bar Mitzvah and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Elliott as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
