R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Leona Williams was named the Senior Citizen of the |
|
|
Year at the Burnet Chamber of Commerce annual awards banquet on |
|
|
February 7, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the Burnet chamber recognizes |
|
|
individuals and businesses for their outstanding achievements and |
|
|
for their efforts to benefit the local community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Williams is a former teacher and principal at |
|
|
Burnet Elementary School; at the age of 93, she continues to work |
|
|
part-time at the local Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, where she is a |
|
|
bright and comforting presence for families who have lost loved |
|
|
ones; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through her exceptional contributions, Leona |
|
|
Williams has furthered Burnet's reputation as a great place to |
|
|
live, work, and raise a family, and she is indeed deserving of this |
|
|
notable honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Leona Williams on her selection as |
|
|
the Senior Citizen of the Year by the Burnet Chamber of Commerce and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Williams as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
