R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Frank and Juanita Brown of Waco commemorated a
  special milestone in their long and happy marriage when they
  celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on November 19, 2014; and
         WHEREAS, The couple became acquainted in March of 1939, while
  both were students in high school, and they were joined in matrimony
  the following November; over the years, they have nurtured a bond
  built on faith and mutual devotion, and their enduring union
  remains an inspiration to all those who have shared in its joy; and
         WHEREAS, Longtime residents of Waco, Frank Brown retired
  after a 32-year career with the General Tire and Rubber Company, and
  Juanita Brown worked with Woods Manufacturing and Wolf
  Manufacturing; the couple are valued members of Pleasant Olive
  Missionary Baptist Church, where Mr. Brown served as a deacon for
  more than five decades; Mrs. Brown benefited the congregation
  through her service on the deaconess board and has also devoted her
  time to the Cherry Park Neighborhood Club; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Brown take great pride in a family that
  spans several generations; they are loving parents to their eight
  children, Thomas "T. J." Brown and his wife, Brenda, Margaret
  Gilkey, Cynthia Young, Ruby Sneed and her husband, Clinton, Thelma
  Bickham and her husband, Gerald, Frank Brown Jr., James Brown and
  his wife, Connie, and Mattie Scott and her husband, Donald; they
  have been further blessed with 18 grandchildren, 26
  great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild, along with 15
  step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout their many years together, this
  remarkable couple have been enthusiastically involved in the
  activities of their children and grandchildren, even crossing state
  lines to attend a sporting event that was special to them; in
  addition, they have enjoyed extensive opportunities to travel
  around the United States, and they have ventured out of the country
  to visit Mexico and the Caribbean; and
         WHEREAS, Treasured by their family, friends, and community,
  Frank and Juanita Brown have shared life's trials and triumphs for
  three quarters of a century, and they are among an exceptional group
  of men and women who can claim such a lasting commitment; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Frank and Juanita Brown on their
  75th wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
