R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Our communities draw immeasurable strength from
  individuals like Rodolfo "Rudy" Ramirez, whose tireless work in
  behalf of area citizens has contributed significantly to the
  quality of life in Edinburg; and
         WHEREAS, Born and raised in the city he is proud to call home,
  Mr. Ramirez began his notable tenure with the Edinburg Housing
  Authority as a board member in 1991, and he has ably served the
  agency as its executive director since 2011; under his steady
  guidance, the organization has developed new programs to assist
  low-income families and cultivated rewarding partnerships with
  local businesses, community members, and The University of
  Texas--Pan American; and
         WHEREAS, Before joining the EHA, Mr. Ramirez worked as a
  teacher for six years in the Edinburg Consolidated Independent
  School District; from 1999 to 2005, he distinguished himself as an
  ECISD board member, and he served as president of the board in 2000;
  a man of many talents, he started his own real estate company in
  1988, and as a state-licensed Realtor and instructor, he taught
  continuing education courses for eight years at South Texas
  College; and
         WHEREAS, The first in his family to attend college, this
  admired Texan earned a bachelor's degree in education from UTPA in
  1987, and he is currently in pursuit of a master's degree in public
  administration; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love and
  support of his wife of 30 years, Pamela Montalvo, and he is the
  proud father of four children: Rudy, Pedro, Ida Marie, and Ivy May;
  and
         WHEREAS, Rudy Ramirez has demonstrated a lasting commitment
  to making Edinburg an even better place in which to live and work,
  and in so doing, he has earned the deep respect and appreciation of
  his fellow residents; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Rodolfo "Rudy" Ramirez for his
  contributions to the Edinburg community and extend to him sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Ramirez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
