R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of Preservation Texas are gathering in
Austin on March 19, 2015, in celebration of Preservation Texas Day
  at the State Capitol; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1985, Preservation Texas advocates for
the state's historic resources, and it is dedicated to protecting
our material and cultural heritage, including places, buildings,
  artifacts, and documents; and
WHEREAS, This noteworthy organization also raises awareness
of the enormous economic benefits of conserving vital connections

through higher property values as well as the collection of sales
taxes and hotel-motel taxes, and in 2013, preservation activities
in Texas generated more than $4.6 billion in state gross domestic
product and sustained over 79,000 jobs; and
WHEREAS, For three decades, Preservation Texas has united the
efforts of individuals and organizations devoted to safeguarding a
priceless heritage for future generations, and its endeavors have
contributed immeasurably to the vibrancy and prosperity of the Lone

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
