R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Association of African American
  Chambers of Commerce are gathering in Austin on March 31, 2015, in
  celebration of Black Business Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Officially established in 1988, the TAAACC can trace
  its roots to the 1920s, when the Dallas Negro Chamber of Commerce
  was formed to facilitate the participation of African American
  business owners in the economic mainstream; the TAAACC today is a
  statewide network of African American chambers of commerce and
  represents more than 10,000 firms; and
         WHEREAS, The association educates members about laws and
  regulations that could impact businesses, and it works within the
  legislative process to ensure equal opportunities for African
  American enterprises; moreover, it coordinates with leaders in
  government and the corporate world to promote diversity and
  inclusiveness, and it supports policies that expand access to
  achieving economic prosperity; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Association of African American Chambers
  of Commerce is an effective advocate for its members, and its
  notable endeavors have helped to improve business conditions and
  strengthen the economic base in communities across the state; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize March 31, 2015, as Texas Association
  of African American Chambers of Commerce Black Business Day at the
  State Capitol and extend to all those participating in the event
  sincere best wishes for an informative and enjoyable visit to
  Austin.
