R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas |
|
|
is pleased to recognize Lila Aguirre, who has been selected for |
|
|
induction on March 21, 2015, into the San Antonio Women's Hall of |
|
|
Fame for her outstanding work in civic leadership; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since 1984, the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame |
|
|
annually honors those women who have contributed significantly to |
|
|
the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their |
|
|
accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of a lifetime of community |
|
|
leadership in San Antonio, Lila Aguirre has generously and |
|
|
unceasingly devoted her time to advancing the community and making |
|
|
the city a more vibrant community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Her actions in these areas have taken many forms, |
|
|
including her work with the organizations, Hispanic Women's Network |
|
|
of Texas, Texas Democratic Women, and her service on the |
|
|
City/County Joint Commission on Elderly Affairs, which works to |
|
|
improve the quality of life for seniors in San Antonio and Bexar |
|
|
County through outreach, advocacy, and support of senior services |
|
|
and resources; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of |
|
|
Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Lila Aguirre for her |
|
|
exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her |
|
|
induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her as an expression of high regard and esteem by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
