R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas |
|
|
is pleased to recognize Gini Garcia, who has been selected for |
|
|
induction on March 21, 2015, into the San Antonio Women's Hall of |
|
|
Fame for her outstanding work and leadership in creative arts; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since 1984, the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame |
|
|
annually honors those women who have contributed significantly to |
|
|
the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their |
|
|
accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and |

|
|
WHEREAS, Gini Garcia has been active as a glass artist and |
|
|
designer for over 20 years at her studio in San Antonio Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS She is the first artist to be chosen as a woman of |
|
|
influence in the arts by the San Antonio Business Journal and has |
|
|
received a Citation of honor for contributions to the built |
|
|
environment in the State of Texas by The American Institute of |
|
|
Architects, highest award to a non-architect; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, the beauty and quality of her work is reflected in |
|
|
the commissions from by both public institutions and private |
|
|
corporations and including the installation of more than more than |
|
|
50 site-specific works and countless private commissions |
|
|
worldwide; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of |
|
|
Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Gini Garcia for her |
|
|
exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her |
|
|
induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her as an expression of high regard and esteem by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
