R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas |
|
|
is pleased to recognize Margaret M. Vera, who has been selected for |
|
|
induction on March 21, 2015, into the San Antonio Women's Hall of |
|
|
Fame for her outstanding work and leadership in volunteerism; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since 1984, the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame |
|
|
annually honors those women who have contributed significantly to |
|
|
the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their |
|
|
accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Margaret M. Vera has made San Antonio and Bexar |
|
|
County a better place by her continued civic engagement and her |
|
|
unceasing community volunteerism; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This lawyer has lent her valuable expertise and hard |
|
|
work over thousands of hours and volunteered to make our community a |
|
|
better place addressing a wide range of needs; she has addressed |
|
|
issues related to education and literacy through her service on the |
|
|
board of the San Antonio Public Library Foundation and lent a caring |
|
|
hand as a trustee for the Center for Health Care Services, which |
|
|
operates a wide range of medical and mental health programs in San |
|
|
Antonio and which also provides care and respite for the homeless |
|
|
population and those dealing with substance abuse; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of |
|
|
Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Margaret M. Vera for her |
|
|
exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her |
|
|
induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her as an expression of high regard and esteem by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
