R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A coalition of civic-minded Texans is gathering in
  Austin on March 23, 2015, to discuss transportation policy on
  Toll-Free Texas Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Combining their dedicated efforts, the members of
  three associations are advocating for the construction of new roads
  that will not require drivers to pay tolls; and
         WHEREAS, Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom is a nonprofit
  organization committed to educating the public about the tolling of
  roads, the implications of comprehensive development agreements,
  and the use of eminent domain; in years past, TURF helped stop the
  proposed Trans-Texas Corridor and was instrumental in securing a
  moratorium on public-private partnership road contracts; and
         WHEREAS, Eagle Forum, founded by Phyllis Schlafly, has been
  at the forefront of the pro-family movement since 1972; its
  endeavors have garnered substantial local and national media
  coverage, and they have been recognized by presidential
  administrations; the organization promotes individual liberty,
  respect for family integrity, public and private virtue, and
  private enterprise; and
         WHEREAS, One of the largest constitutional conservative
  citizen organizations in Texas, Grassroots America-We the People
  supports limited government, personal responsibility,
  good citizenship, traditional family values, and the free market
  system; it works closely with state and national policy groups and
  think tanks, and it is networked with more than 300 conservative
  groups across the country; and
         WHEREAS, The continued prosperity of the Lone Star State
  depends on an effective transportation system, and concerned
  citizens have a vital role to play in the discussions surrounding
  this matter; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize March 23, 2015, as Toll-Free Texas Day
  at the State Capitol and commend all those involved for their civic
  engagement.
