H.R. No. 1418
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Those Texans who give generously of their time and
  talents to benefit the greater good are truly deserving of our
  gratitude and admiration, and Hector Gonzalez of El Paso is indeed
  one such individual; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzalez is an alumnus of The University of
  Texas at El Paso, where he earned a bachelor's degree with honors in
  multidisciplinary studies; he answered his nation's call to duty
  during the Vietnam War by enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1971,
  and he went on to lead a distinguished military career that spanned
  two decades; after returning to civilian life, he devoted the next
  18 years to working for two nonprofit organizations that provided
  services to the mentally ill; and
         WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Gonzalez enjoys the
  love and support of his two children, Steven and Cory, and he is a
  valued member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church; and
         WHEREAS, Hector Gonzalez served courageously in the armed
  forces of his country and has since contributed to his community
  with equal commitment, and it is indeed a pleasure to recognize him
  for his outstanding efforts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Hector Gonzalez for his exemplary
  service to his state and his nation and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
