R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Those Texans who give generously of their time and |
|
talents to benefit the greater good are truly deserving of our |
|
gratitude and admiration, and Hector Gonzalez of El Paso is indeed |
|
one such individual; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzalez is an alumnus of The University of |
|
Texas at El Paso, where he earned a bachelor's degree with honors in |
|
multidisciplinary studies; he answered his nation's call to duty |
|
during the Vietnam War by enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1971, |
|
and he went on to lead a distinguished military career that spanned |
|
two decades; after returning to civilian life, he devoted the next |
|
18 years to working for two nonprofit organizations that provided |
|
services to the mentally ill; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Gonzalez enjoys the |
|
love and support of his two children, Steven and Cory, and he is a |
|
valued member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Hector Gonzalez served courageously in the armed |
|
forces of his country and has since contributed to his community |
|
with equal commitment, and it is indeed a pleasure to recognize him |
|
for his outstanding efforts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Hector Gonzalez for his exemplary |
|
service to his state and his nation and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
