R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Silsbee High School boys' basketball team
  enjoyed an outstanding 2014-2015 season, advancing all the way to
  the 4A Region 3 final of the University Interscholastic League
  playoffs; and
         WHEREAS, After posting an impressive 11-1 record in district
  play, the Tigers opened the postseason with a commanding 83-63
  triumph over Hargrave High School; Silsbee followed with victories
  over Scarborough and Wheatley before dominating Mexia High in the
  regional semifinals by a score of 83-46 to earn a place in the
  regional finals; in that contest, the team gave a valiant effort
  against Sterling High but ultimately fell short, concluding the
  year with a stellar record of 30 wins to just 6 defeats; and
         WHEREAS, Under the skilled guidance of head coach Joe Sigler
  and assistant coaches Ira Brooks and James Collins, the Tigers
  excelled with a true team effort and benefited from the valuable
  contributions made throughout the season by each member of the
  roster: Michael Williams, Bruce Newton, Sedrick Spearman, Trajan
  Harris, Dontre' Thomas, Ricky Maze, Michael McCain, Travious
  Grubbs, Kalon Barnes, Luke Tanton, and Kolton Mackey; and
         WHEREAS, The Silsbee Tigers basketball squad has become a
  source of tremendous pride to its many supporters in the local
  community, and the teamwork and dedication that the players have
  demonstrated on the court will continue to serve them well in the
  years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Silsbee High School boys'
  basketball team on reaching the UIL 4A Region 3 final and extend to
  the team's players, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
