R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Juan Martinez can take well-deserved pride in the |
|
|
outstanding service he has rendered to the residents of his |
|
|
community during his first year and a half as superintendent of the |
|
|
Clint Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez earned his bachelor's degree in |
|
|
business administration in 1993 and his master's degree in school |
|
|
administration in 1996, both from The University of Texas at El |
|
|
Paso; in the years since, he has earned a teacher certification in |
|
|
bilingual education, a mid-management certificate, and a |
|
|
superintendent certification, and he is currently working toward a |
|
|
doctorate in education at UT El Paso; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This veteran educator began his exemplary 20-year |
|
|
career in 1994, as an elementary school teacher for the Socorro ISD; |
|
|
he joined Clint ISD in 1997 as an assistant principal, and he has |
|
|
gone on to serve as principal of Montana Vista Elementary School and |
|
|
as the district's director of personnel services; he returned to |
|
|
Socorro ISD for three years as chief human resources officer before |
|
|
becoming the Clint ISD superintendent in August 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his unwavering commitment to his students |
|
|
and staff, Juan Martinez has led the way in fostering a supportive |
|
|
and challenging educational environment, one that gives students a |
|
|
vision of what they might attain if they strive for success and that |
|
|
equips them with skills that will help them to build fulfilling and |
|
|
productive lives; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Juan Martinez, superintendent of the Clint |
|
|
Independent School District, for his admirable service to his |
|
|
fellow citizens and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Martinez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
