R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Students from Hondo High School placed first in the |
|
parliamentary procedure event at the 2015 Business Professionals of |
|
America State Leadership Conference in Dallas on March 7; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Business Professionals of America organization |
|
is dedicated to helping students develop essential skills for |
|
careers in business management, office administration, information |
|
technology, and other endeavors crucial to the U.S. economy; the |
|
annual BPA State Leadership Conference brings together more than |
|
3,500 students from across Texas to compete in a variety of |
|
challenging competitions to showcase their occupational abilities; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, By capturing the school's second consecutive and |
|
third overall state title in the parliamentary procedure event, the |
|
team qualified to compete at this year's BPA National Leadership |
|
Conference being held May 6 through 10 in Anaheim, California; |
|
benefiting from the guidance of team sponsor Sally Bader, the group |
|
includes David Rihn, Monica Vega, Pete Rochat, Maegan McKay, Ellie |
|
Jones, Cindy Bryant, and Justina Graff; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through their involvement in the BPA State |
|
Leadership Conference, these admirable young Texans are building a |
|
strong foundation for future success, and they may reflect with |
|
pride on their notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Hondo High |
|
School parliamentary procedure team on their first-place finish at |
|
the 2015 Business Professionals of America State Leadership |
|
Conference and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
