R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Residents of El Paso benefit each day from the
  contributions of those public servants who greatly improve the
  quality of life in their communities through the fulfillment of
  their duties; and
         WHEREAS, Norma L. Favela was first elected to the office of
  district clerk of El Paso County in 2010, and she was reelected for
  a second term in 2014; during her outstanding tenure, she has worked
  diligently to meet the many responsibilities of her office, to gain
  the trust of the public, and to positively influence the morale of
  her staff; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Ysleta High School, this esteemed
  civic leader holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from The
  University of Texas at El Paso; prior to joining the district
  clerk's office, she spent more than 25 years and gained valuable
  experience with the El Paso County Commissioners Court and the Tax
  Assessor-Collector's office; and
         WHEREAS, Norma Favela has demonstrated a steadfast
  commitment to making El Paso County an even better place in which to
  live and work, and in so doing, she has earned the deep respect and
  appreciation of her fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Norma L. Favela, district clerk of El Paso
  County, for her efforts in behalf of her community and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Favela as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
