H.R. No. 1485
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, J. R. Gallegos is concluding his tenure on the
  Pleasanton City Council in 2015, after more than two decades of
  exemplary service; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Gallegos was first elected to represent
  District 4 in 1992, and his knowledge and expertise in a wide range
  of issues have earned him the respect and admiration of many people
  over the past 23 years; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan has played an instrumental role
  in several important municipal projects and infrastructure
  improvements, including the expansion of the wastewater treatment
  plant, the renovation of City Hall, and the construction of a sports
  complex; he has also devoted his time and energies to serving on
  various boards and special committees for the city and Atascosa
  County; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Gallegos has further contributed to his
  community through his volunteer work with a number of area
  organizations and initiatives; in addition, he is an active
  congregant at St. Andrew Catholic Church; and
         WHEREAS, The effective operation of city government depends
  on the hard work of committed public servants, and J. R. Gallegos
  has proven himself to be a civic leader of great vision and ability;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend J. R. Gallegos for his service on the
  Pleasanton City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Gallegos as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
