R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Senior Officer Bob Dorsch of the Corpus Christi |
|
|
Police Department has deservedly been presented with a Life Saving |
|
|
Award for his heroic actions in the line of duty; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, On November 4, 2014, Officer Dorsch responded to a |
|
|
9-1-1 call about a man who was found unconscious in his truck; the |
|
|
man's companion had begun performing CPR to restore his breathing |
|
|
and heartbeat, and after arriving on the scene, Officer Dorsch took |
|
|
over administering chest compressions as the other individual |
|
|
provided rescue breathing to the victim; another officer, |
|
|
Lieutenant Adrian Diaz, also came to assist them in keeping the man |
|
|
alive; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although the victim remained unresponsive, the |
|
|
three men continued their efforts until paramedics could reach them |
|
|
and transport the man to a hospital; miraculously, the victim |
|
|
survived, which emergency personnel credited to their early and |
|
|
sustained attempts to resuscitate him; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In a crisis situation, Officer Bob Dorsch remained |
|
|
calm and implemented the skills he had learned in his training, and |
|
|
in so doing, he helped to save the life of a fellow Texan in need; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize Senior Officer Bob Dorsch on his |
|
|
receipt of the Life Saving Award from the Corpus Christi Police |
|
|
Department and extend to him sincere appreciation for his admirable |
|
|
public service; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Officer Dorsch as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
