H.R. No. 1500
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Adrian Diaz of the Corpus Christi Police
  Department has deservedly been presented with a Life Saving Award
  for his heroic actions in the line of duty; and
         WHEREAS, On November 4, 2014, Lieutenant Diaz responded to a
  9-1-1 call about a man who was found unconscious in his truck; the
  man's companion had begun performing CPR to restore his breathing
  and heartbeat, and after arriving on the scene, Lieutenant Diaz
  joined him and another officer, Bob Dorsch, in administering chest
  compressions and rescue breathing to keep the victim alive; and
         WHEREAS, Although the victim remained unresponsive, the
  three men continued their efforts until paramedics could reach them
  and transport the man to a hospital; miraculously, the victim
  survived, which emergency personnel credited to their early and
  sustained attempts to resuscitate him; and
         WHEREAS, In a crisis situation, Lieutenant Adrian Diaz
  remained calm and implemented the skills he had learned in his
  training, and in so doing, he helped to save the life of a fellow
  Texan in need; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize Lieutenant Adrian Diaz on his receipt
  of the Life Saving Award from the Corpus Christi Police Department
  and extend to him sincere appreciation for his admirable public
  service; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Lieutenant Diaz as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
