R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sanah Jivani of Spring has been named a |
|
|
Distinguished Finalist in the 2015 Prudential Spirit of Community |
|
|
Awards program, earning recognition as one of the top youth |
|
|
volunteers in Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sponsored by Prudential Financial and the National |
|
|
Association of Secondary School Principals, the Spirit of Community |
|
|
Awards honor young people in middle school and high school who |
|
|
demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to serving their |
|
|
communities; this year, more than 30,000 teens from across the |
|
|
nation were considered for recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A senior at Klein Collins High School, Ms. Jivani |
|
|
founded International Natural Day, a celebration of people's |
|
|
natural selves that seeks to affirm each person's uniqueness and to |
|
|
promote self-confidence; she launched the initiative after |
|
|
struggling with medical hair loss; determined to help others |
|
|
overcome similar challenges, this talented young Texan has helped |
|
|
to spread the message of Natural Day to schools in the United States |
|
|
and across the globe, and she maintains a website with encouraging |
|
|
stories and helpful information; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sanah Jivani has demonstrated remarkable initiative |
|
|
and determination in the pursuit of a selfless goal, and she is a |
|
|
source of inspiration to all who are privileged to know her; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sanah Jivani on being named a |
|
|
Distinguished Finalist in the 2015 Prudential Spirit of Community |
|
|
Awards program and extend to her sincere best wishes in all her |
|
|
future endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Jivani as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
