R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Mary Sue Cole retired as Hunt County Extension agent
  for family and consumer sciences on December 31, 2014, drawing to a
  close an outstanding career with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension
  Service; and
         WHEREAS, After attending Texas Woman's University, where she
  earned a degree in vocational home economics education, Ms. Cole
  joined Hunt County Extension in 1968 as a 4-H agent; she went on to
  work as an Extension agent at-large for Rains, Camp, Delta, and
  Franklin Counties before returning to Hunt County in 1989; and
         WHEREAS, In her role as Hunt County Extension agent for
  family and consumer sciences, Ms. Cole provided practical
  information about such topics as health, child raising, money
  management, and housing and the environment, while also assisting
  with efforts related to economic and community development; for a
  number of years, her work included writing two weekly columns for
  the Herald-Banner, a Hunt County newspaper, which garnered a
  devoted following; her "Food For Thought" column offered recipes
  and nutritional advice, while "Good Ideas" focused on news about
  AgriLife Extension Service activities in the area; during her time
  with the Hunt County Extension office, Ms. Cole also served as the
  group's county coordinator, with responsibility for leading
  program development and overseeing office operations; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Cole plans to enjoy her retirement by spending
  more time with her husband of more than 40 years, Tom Cole, and by
  painting, writing, and possibly consulting; and
         WHEREAS, Mary Sue Cole's wide-ranging knowledge and
  commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the citizens of
  Hunt County, and she may indeed reflect with pride on a career well
  spent as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Mary Sue Cole on her retirement
  from the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and that she be
  extended sincere best wishes for continued happiness and success;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Cole as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
