R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Ron and Jimmie Driggers of Greenville |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 15, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Driggers met at the Satellite Roller |
|
|
Rink in Greenville, and they were united in matrimony in 1965; |
|
|
through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that |
|
|
has been made even richer with the addition of two children and |
|
|
their spouses, Terry Driggers and his wife, Debbie, and Craig |
|
|
Driggers and his wife, Ellie; they have been further blessed with |
|
|
four grandchildren, Ty Driggers, Taryn Driggers, Bryan Copeland, |
|
|
and Ryan Driggers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lifelong residents of Greenville, Mr. Driggers |
|
|
worked for the Texas Highway Department until his retirement in |
|
|
2005 and Mrs. Driggers retired from the Hunt County Courthouse in |
|
|
2006; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
|
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love |
|
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ron and Jimmie Driggers on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
