R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Texas Citizens Bank was named the Business of the |
|
|
Year by the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce on February 19, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 2005 by Duncan Stewart, Mike Cornett, Tom |
|
|
Watson, Ken Love, Dr. George Dempsey, and former constable Bill |
|
|
Bailey, the bank opened its doors in south Pasadena in 2006 and was |
|
|
successful enough to establish a second location in Clear Lake the |
|
|
following year; still the only bank based in Pasadena, it has grown |
|
|
to encompass six branches in the Greater Houston area, including |
|
|
ones in Baytown, Rosenberg, Nassau Bay, and West University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to bringing jobs and valuable services |
|
|
to the region, Texas Citizens Bank contributes to its community as a |
|
|
member of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, with its leaders |
|
|
serving as board members and committee participants; additionally, |
|
|
a number of vital nonprofit organizations in the area benefit from |
|
|
the bank's support and volunteer hours; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Providing guidance to Texas Citizens Bank are Duncan |
|
|
Stewart, chairman of the board and CEO; Mike Cornett, bank |
|
|
president; Tom Watson, regional president and CLO; and Bob Gebhard, |
|
|
executive vice president; advisory directors include Richard |
|
|
Cansler, Terry Brotherton, Jack Howard, Dub Kelly, Ralph Vasami, |
|
|
Jess Fields, and Mike Bowman; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Enterprises that employ area residents and that spur |
|
|
economic vitality in their community are essential to the |
|
|
prosperity of the Lone Star State, and the prestigious recognition |
|
|
awarded Texas Citizens Bank is a testament to the commitment of the |
|
|
bank's leaders toward working for the greater good; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Texas Citizens Bank on being named |
|
|
the 2015 Business of the Year by the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce |
|
|
and extend to the bank's officers and staff sincere best wishes for |
|
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Texas Citizens Bank as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
