R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The grand opening of the new Texas Department of |
|
|
Public Safety Driver License Center in Corpus Christi was |
|
|
celebrated on March 12, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Situated on an eight-acre site, this |
|
|
18,700-square-foot office is more than double the size of its |
|
|
former location, allowing a staff of 23 full-time employees and |
|
|
providing capacity for 12 work stations, 2 customer waiting rooms, |
|
|
and some 250 parking spaces; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The state-of-the-art building has also been |
|
|
outfitted with expanded driving lanes for passenger and commercial |
|
|
driving skills testing and with an upgraded queuing system, which |
|
|
enables customers to remotely secure a spot in line; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With this facility, the Texas Department of Public |
|
|
Safety is able to deliver even better service to the citizens of |
|
|
Corpus Christi, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in welcoming |
|
|
this notable addition to the city; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the opening of the new Texas |
|
|
Department of Public Safety Driver License Center in Corpus Christi |
|
|
and extend to all those associated with the office sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future. |
