H.R. No. 1565

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, The Livingston High School Student Council was named the recipient of an Outstanding Student Council Award from the Texas Association of Student Councils at the District 17 Convention on February 25, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to developing leadership abilities among students, the TASC annually honors exemplary high school and middle school student councils that demonstrate all the attributes of a well-rounded and effective student service organization; and

WHEREAS, The LHS Student Council was lauded for its robust organizational structure as well as its participation in TASC programs; moreover, the group also completed annual reports for Pride and Patriotism, Energy and Environment, and Drugs, Alcohol, Safety and Health (D.A.S.H.) projects, and its members donated thousands of dollars in goods and funds to local charities; and

WHEREAS, Ably guided by advisor Joel Casiday, the members of the Livingston High School Student Council have worked diligently toward the betterment of their school and their community, and their many worthwhile endeavors indeed merit special recognition; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the Livingston High School Student Council on winning a 2015 Outstanding Student Council Award and commend its members for their significant achievements; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Livingston High School Student Council as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
