R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Lisa Merka of Trout |
|
Creek were deeply saddened by her untimely passing on January 6, |
|
2015, at the age of 50; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of the Kirbyville area, Ms. Merka was an |
|
active and valued member of her community; in addition to directing |
|
the local chamber of commerce, she contributed to her congregation |
|
at First Assembly of God Church, where she taught children's |
|
classes and volunteered to assist with a number of vital projects; |
|
she was employed by CHRISTUS Jasper Memorial Hospital, and she |
|
earned the admiration of her colleagues for the compassionate care |
|
she provided; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Merka shared a rewarding marriage with her |
|
husband, Travis, with whom she raised two sons, Ivan and Randy; |
|
through the years, she was further blessed with a daughter-in-law, |
|
Ashley, and she became the beloved "MaMaw" of two grandchildren, |
|
Autumn and Kayden; and |
|
WHEREAS, Lisa Merka lived her life with enthusiasm and joy, |
|
and though her journey on this earth ended far too soon, memories of |
|
her faith, warmth, and service to others will continue to comfort |
|
and inspire all those who knew and loved her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lisa Merka and extend |
|
sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, |
|
Travis Merka; to her sons, Ivan Merka and Randy Merka and his wife, |
|
Ashley; to her grandchildren, Autumn Grace Merka and Kayden Parker |
|
Merka; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lisa Merka. |
