R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, In a demonstration of skill and determination, the |
|
|
Evadale High School girls' basketball team enjoyed an outstanding |
|
|
2014-2015 season, capturing the District 24-2A championship and |
|
|
advancing all the way to the regional semifinals of the University |
|
|
Interscholastic League playoffs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Lady Rebels excelled during the regular season, |
|
|
going undefeated in their 12 games against league opponents to |
|
|
claim the school's 13th district title in the past 14 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Evadale began the 2A playoffs with a resounding |
|
|
66-37 triumph against Carlisle High School in the area round and |
|
|
went on to record a hard-fought 41-40 win over Tenaha; that victory |
|
|
earned the Lady Rebels a spot in the regional semifinals, where |
|
|
their season came to an end after they were narrowly defeated by |
|
|
Hubbard High School; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout the year, head coach Robert Hollyfield |
|
|
provided able guidance to his team, and the players' solid |
|
|
fundamentals and the unwavering commitment to excellence brought |
|
|
them notable success on the hardwood; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By winning the district crown and proving themselves |
|
|
strong playoff contenders, the members of the Evadale High School |
|
|
Lady Rebels basketball team have become a source of pride for their |
|
|
school and community, and they may take justifiable pride in a job |
|
|
well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Evadale High School girls' |
|
|
basketball team on its accomplishments during the 2014-2015 season |
|
|
and extend to the team's players, coaches, and staff sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
