R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Students from Incarnate Word Academy in Corpus
  Christi made a fine showing at the Texas High School State Mock
  Trial Competition held in Dallas from March 5-7, 2015; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1979, the competition is
  administrated by the Dallas Bar Association and organized through
  the 20 Texas Education Agency Regional Service Centers;
  approximately 2,000 students take part each year; and
         WHEREAS, Two Incarnate Word seniors earned honorable
  mention; Joshua Rasmussen was recognized in the outstanding
  advocate category and Pedram Salamat was recognized in the
  outstanding witness category; also contributing to the team effort
  were student attorneys Michelle Ndwaru and Julio Ramos, student
  witnesses Sofia Aguirre, Sean Dinh, Taylor Jones, Alma Oliva Tamez,
  and Gabriella Vargas, and timekeeper Janel Soliz; and
         WHEREAS, Participation in this challenging academic contest
  requires hard work and many hours of preparation, and the team from
  Incarnate Word Academy has brought credit to the school through its
  noteworthy performance; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Incarnate Word Academy team on
  its accomplishments at the 2015 Texas High School State Mock Trial
  Competition and extend to its members sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
