R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Jeanette Palmire retired as a patrol officer with
  the Bellaire Police Department on March 7, 2015, concluding an
  exemplary career that spanned 32 years; and
         WHEREAS, When Officer Palmire joined the department in 1983,
  it had only one other female member, and for much of her tenure, she
  held her own in an otherwise all-male environment; she played a
  major part in developing the department's Field Training Officer
  program during the 1980s, and it became a model for other agencies;
  and
         WHEREAS, Officer Palmire demonstrated exceptional skill and
  dedication as a patrol officer, and she turned down several
  opportunities for promotion or special assignment in order to
  remain in that role; always ready to help out wherever and whenever
  needed, she brightened the days of her coworkers with her kind and
  easygoing manner, and she was a caring mentor to many younger
  officers; and
         WHEREAS, Through her steadfast commitment to public safety,
  Officer Palmire set a high standard to which others may aspire,
  while earning the lasting respect and appreciation of her
  colleagues and fellow citizens alike; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Officer Jeanette Palmire on her
  retirement from the Bellaire Police Department and extend to her
  sincere best wishes as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of
  her life; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Officer Palmire as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
