R E S O L U T I O N
|
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Savannah Galloway of Buna High School earned |
|
|
honorable mention at the 29th annual Protégé High School Art |
|
|
Competition and Exhibition, which was held in Beaumont on February |
|
|
27, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1986, this competition is aimed at |
|
|
encouraging high school seniors from around the Golden Triangle to |
|
|
create original artwork; out of some 140 submissions this year, 26 |
|
|
pieces were selected for inclusion in a traveling art show, which |
|
|
will be displayed at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas as well as at |
|
|
regional school libraries; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Galloway placed fourth for her entry, a drawing |
|
|
entitled Self-Portrait, and received a gift certificate for art |
|
|
supplies; she is a student of Buna High art instructor Keith Hoke; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Savannah Galloway has distinguished herself among |
|
|
the many talented young artists who entered this competition, and |
|
|
she is indeed a source of great pride to her family and her school; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Savannah Galloway on earning |
|
|
honorable mention at the 2015 Protégé High School Art Competition |
|
|
and Exhibition and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Galloway as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
