R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Frank Dolan of the Corpus Christi Police |
|
Department lost his life in the line of duty on February 12, 1960, |
|
and his service and sacrifice will not soon be forgotten; and |
|
WHEREAS, While traveling back to Corpus Christi on Farm to |
|
Market Road 624 in snowy conditions, Sergeant Dolan was involved in |
|
a fatal collision, when he lost control of his vehicle near Orange |
|
Grove and was struck by another car; he was a 24-year veteran of the |
|
department who had served in the United States Navy; at the time of |
|
his death, Sergeant Dolan was survived by his wife and three |
|
children; and |
|
WHEREAS, Our state and nation benefit immeasurably from the |
|
courage and commitment of law enforcement professionals such as |
|
Sergeant Dolan, who willingly place themselves in harm's way each |
|
day to safeguard the lives and property of their fellow citizens; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and exemplary service of |
|
Sergeant Frank Dolan of the Corpus Christi Police Department. |
