R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The third annual Volente Olive Fest is taking place
  on April 18, 2015, and this event provides a welcome opportunity for
  local residents and visitors alike to celebrate all things olive;
  and
         WHEREAS, Held at Shore Club Volente Beach, the festival
  features wares from a variety of Texas olive producers, as well as
  an array of local food and drink; in addition, area chefs will be
  conducting demonstrations on cooking with olive oil, and members of
  the Family and Consumer Sciences office of Travis County Extension
  will be on hand to educate attendees on healthy eating habits; also
  included on the festival program are live music, local arts and
  crafts vendors, and a children's entertainment area; and
         WHEREAS, Proceeds raised during this lively event will go
  toward the Austin Dog Alliance, a nonprofit organization that
  strives to improve the health and well-being of children and young
  adults by offering canine-assisted programs to help them reach
  their full potential; and
         WHEREAS, Deserving of recognition for their crucial support
  in staging the festival are the Village of Volente, Shore Club
  Volente Beach, Volente Beach Water Park, Travaasa, Salud de Paloma,
  Lake Travis Zipline Adventures, Business and Community Lenders of
  Texas, and the Go Texan program of the Texas Department of
  Agriculture; and
         WHEREAS, A highly anticipated occasion, the Volente Olive
  Fest promotes the health benefits and sumptuous flavors of the
  olive, and it is all the more special for the valuable support it
  provides to a worthy cause; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the third annual Olive Fest in
  Volente and extend to the event's organizers and participants
  sincere best wishes for a fun and rewarding experience.
