R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Officer Matthew B. Thebeau of the Corpus Christi |
|
|
Police Department lost his life in the line of duty on January 20, |
|
|
2008, and his service and sacrifice will not soon be forgotten; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Officer Thebeau was en route to an assault in |
|
|
progress when he was killed in a traffic accident; a two-year |
|
|
veteran of the Corpus Christi Police Department at the time of his |
|
|
death, this dedicated public servant was honored in the community |
|
|
he so ably served with a park that was dedicated and named in his |
|
|
memory; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Our state and nation benefit immeasurably from the |
|
|
courage and commitment of law enforcement professionals such as |
|
|
Officer Thebeau, who willingly place themselves in harm's way each |
|
|
day to safeguard the lives and property of their fellow citizens; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and exemplary service of |
|
|
Officer Matthew B. Thebeau of the Corpus Christi Police Department. |
