R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Christian Lewis and Brett May of West Hardin High
  School in Saratoga became a source of pride for their school and
  community with their performance at the University Interscholastic
  League 2A Cross-Examination Debate State Meet held on March 16 and
  17, 2015, at The University of Texas at Austin; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Lewis and Mr. May eclipsed their opponents in
  district cross-examination debates to qualify for the state
  tournament; there, the partners debated the resolution "The United
  States federal government should substantially increase its
  non-military exploration and/or development of the Earth's oceans"
  and made an impressive showing by advancing to the octafinals; and
         WHEREAS, These outstanding young Texans have demonstrated
  tremendous skill in the art of debate and public speaking, and
  through their talent and commitment to excellence, they have
  brought great distinction to themselves and to West Hardin High
  School; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Christian Lewis and Brett May on
  their performance at the UIL 2A Cross-Examination Debate State Meet
  and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success and a
  bright future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
  for Mr. Lewis and Mr. May as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
